“A taste of Lippe”

Brewery Strate, Detmold

On Thursday evening, you can visit a local brewery and witness the fascinating process of brewing beer first-hand. Come and visit Strate (https://brauerei-strate.de), the oldest family-run brewery in Detmold, Germany, led by three women. This unique brewery boasts a magnificent marble hall and offers a taste of traditional German food alongside its unique beer creations. Whether you are a beer enthusiast or simply curious about the process, this is an experience you will not want to miss!

We have prepared the following program for you:

A bus will bring you directly from the INDIN to the Strate brewery. We start with a traditional welcome drink, and then we enjoy an exciting guided tour, giving us an outstanding overview of the brewery. Afterward, we will be served a traditional German dish: a delicious knuckle of pork with fresh cabbage salad and warm spent grains bread. Vegans have also been thought of: instead of a knuckle of pork, we can order a tasty lentil steak. Finally, of course, we will be able to taste the rich beer selection of the Strate brewery.

The brewery's store is open until 8.30 p.m. for you, so that you can bring a little piece of Germany home to your loved ones. Then, after a pleasant evening, the buses will take you back to your hotels.

State Horticultural Show Höxter 2023

Gardening like the monks did in the Middle Ages, blooming flowers at the foot of the Corvey World Heritage Site, strolling along the Weser and Wall: the North Rhine-Westphalian garden show town of Höxter scores with history and botanical diversity. In addition to an urban flowering meadow, the archeology park brings a sunken city back to life. The Remtergarten at the castle shows ancient and new types of vegetables, but also a large variety of edible flowers. The harvest is freshly cooked in the outdoor kitchen on the Square of Delights. A little train takes visitors to the half-timbered town of Höxter. Or you can take a steamer along the Horticultural Show Park. You can stroll along the promenade along the Weser on foot. It continues with a 70 meter long horizon bench to the quaint old town alleys. Three large playgrounds, a hands-on excavation and a hemp labyrinth make the 2023 State Horticultural Show in Höxter attractive for families with children.

Höxter is about 60 km away from Lemgo.
